  1. Cleaning non-interesting feeds

Hi! Think about the feature to keep feed masses cleaner.
Could there be some habit to mark post interesting or not-interesting?
And SilverReader would make it possible to get statistics, which feeds have had and how many interesting or not-interesting posts.

Navigation - j/k selects the next/previous item in the list.

For example some other commands in addition to j,
    "x" to mark interesting + j's function,
"y" to mark not interesting + j's function.

Something like that would get SileverReader user with less job more results he/she wants.
That would help the user also to delete the feeds that…

    • Android: add option to always open feeds in browser

Quite some feeds don't provide the full content but only a teaser. The app only supports opening the original article by first opening the article in the app and then click on the headline to item it in the browser.

I'd like to see a shorter way to open the original article from the app.

      • When clicking on external link directly, mark feed entry as read

Usually, I prefer to read articles on their original page. Based on the feed entry name I decide whether I directly click the outgoing link.

It would be useful it optionally that entry could be marked as read too.

        • Open article in new tab and go back to SilverReader

When I open article from feed in a new tab in Chrome, it is alwyas opened in a new tab and the focus is setup to that new tab.
In that case I must click again to tab of SilverReader to see the list of articles in feed again.

My habit is to open every interesting article in background from the feed and then go one by one tab later.
Is possible to provide some setting to change this default behaviour?

Since those are just regular links, you can use browser’s integrated functionality. Just hold Control key and then click. An alternative (which I prefer) is to do middle click (click with your mouse wheel). Both will open the link in new tab but leave focus in current tab.

As for having a setting for that, we’ll probably not add it, unless more users request it / vote for this idea. For now, we’re keeping things simple :)

                  • Provide possibility to setup time for refresh of standalone feeds

I am missing the possibility to setup each feed individually e.g. news are updated frequently but standard portals just once a day.

I want to have a possibility to setup refresh interval in minutes for each feed

                      This is an interesting idea…

Currently, our crawler engine does prioritization based on number of posts for a feed. If it figures out that the feed has frequent posts, the feed will get higher priority. Only two priorities for now – normal and high.

If we leave this for users to choose, it might be abused – users might set high priority for everything. Also, consider that many users can be subscribed to a single feed. One user shouldn’t be able to control the feed check frequency for all other users.

                      Thank you,
                      Your SilverReader team

                        • Support Text to Speech in mobile clients

This is much useful, and I have been using this feature on gReader very extensively. This would be amazing feature to have TTS at least on mobile devices.

                          • Show preview text in list view

The list view in Google Reader would show
Title - The first line of the post's content....

It was really convenient because a lot of times the title is short and unhelpful, but the first line of the content makes it easy for me to tell whether I want to read it.

I have a folder for alerts and I would like to assign a coloured background to the folder name e.g. red, so it stands out from the default grey.

                                    • easier change folder

It would be great if there was a new option in the right click menu of a feed named 'change folder'. then by using a simple popup dialog we could change the folder of the feed.

It's a duplicate bug report, because I can't find my previous post (it was posted 2 or 3 month before),
Feeds like https://www.codeplex.com/site/feeds/rss are not refreshing in silverreader at all and I'm missing these info every day. Thanks for your time.

                                          Hi Vahid.
This is problem is caused because codeplex publishes all feedItems with same feedUrl which points to root Codeplex site instead of to each individual post.
We will consider to fix this issue after we publish v1.1.
